The Huichol are a peyote-using tribe native to the rugged Sierra Madre Occidental mountain deserts of north-central Mexico. The Huichol regard peyote as a divine gift. During a peyote ceremony it is customary to smoke a special preparation called ye-tumutsali.
This sacred smoke is made by mixing the potent entheogenic Nicotiana rustica, with the entheogenic marigold, Tagetes lucida, or yyahutli. The synergistic combination makes for a ceremonial smoke with intriguing psychic properties. Sustainably and organically grown by the Huichol in their homeland, this offering is among our fair trade efforts which help to directly benefit the Huichol and preserve their traditional way of life.
